First quarter of 2026 is in the books...

..and progress was made.

Honestly, it's a miracle. I almost had a flimsy by March 31, but embroidery digitizing homework got in the way. But...I was very happy to have an epiphany moment while working on the homework (almost at the last minute) that made me feel so good about moving forward. I have, of late, been questioning my desire to commit to digitizing all the files I want to stitch for quilting my quilts. But that tiny peephole of light I saw last Monday was what spurred me on.

Antelope Canyon will be a flimsy soon-ish...the fourth and final block is done:

Just the blocks slapped up on the wall and not aligned

I mentioned in an earlier post that I may be taking apart the first two blocks to do a better job on seaming, because this will not look right if the blocks are not the same size, and since they go together by sewing a partial seam on a 2.5" square of fabric to all four of the blocks, that could look wonky and I'm not going for that with this project. And while I thought I may quilt this one in the quilt-as-you-go method, it's that center 2.5" square that all blocks have to be attached to that make this is a no-go. What I really think will happen because of that center 2.5" square is that I will take the quilt to Katrina's and quilt it on her new longarm. We'll see.

After saying "Not today, Satan" to the Girl Gang DIY Sampler quilt a few weeks ago, I am re-thinking how I'm going to quilt it and I'm tabling it until I get home from my trip for the digitizing class. Meanwhile, while I'm stewing on how to quilt the Antelope Canyon quilt (or telling Katrina how I want her to quilt it), I will either finally bring out the Stitch & B!tch Sampler quilt which will almost assuredly be a quilt-as-you-go project (a much easier prospect), OR the Sierra log cabin quilt with the Jennifer Sampou gorgeous fabrics. I think I should call 2026 the Year of Some Log Cabins.

Every morning...

I'm a happy girl now that I've finished four projects in the first quarter and recently posted the reveal of the Tattoo Quilt. Thanks for reading; now, go make!
