Beautiful, a wedding, and a quick finish
What a weekend--
Friday was a gorgeous day for a drive. Hickory Hill Quilts and Sewing Center in Hot Springs is my Bernina dealer and where I'm taking the mastery classes. It's 60 miles from our home, and half of the drive is on a US highway and 2 two-lane highways. Twisty, curvy roads that aren't always gentle on my stomach. Once we got to the store, I realized I had failed to bring all of my feet and accessories--they were sitting on the bench in our mud room. Dear, sweet, wonderful Hubster said, "I'll be back in 2 hours."
The store just moved into its new location and it's very nice. A separate building hosts the classroom which is light and bright! Everyone has their own table and space. We had 4 people in our class (LeiLani was one of us), with 3 people leading the class. That was especially nice for the ones needing one-on-one guidance or if any issues arose.
After the class was finished, Hubster and I headed to Memphis. The show "Beautiful" was playing at the Orpheum and that's where I met up with Steph, Holly, Mary, Patti and Trish. The show was fantastic--I just had a big grin on my face for most of it--and the music, oh! the music. I was 13 when Tapestry was released and I'm pretty sure I wore that album out listening to it. I've been a fan of Carole King for most of my life. The show is coming to Little Rock in 2018 and I want to take the Hubster to see it.
On Saturday we hit the ground running with wedding preparations. My sister was officiating the ceremony and wanted a stole. This is what I finished at 11:00 that night:
Steph baked and decorated a cake and prettied up some strawberries, and Hubster made the casseroles for brunch. Sunday morning Steph headed to the donut shop and then we all headed over to Patti and Trish's to decorate and cook the food.
The food was a hit!
The ceremony was so sweet--Patti and Trish have been together for 32 years and have 2 beautiful daughters.
Hubster and I headed home Sunday afternoon to get some rest.
I'm hoping to get into the studio this weekend to finish up the Girl Gang DIY quilt.
Go quilt!
